Jam Patrol
Originally started in 1981, Jam Patrol originates from a lineage of West Coast Strutters/Poppers. Reggie Currie (Double Edge), Grady Turner (Magic Kick aka GT), and Dean Barnes came together in East Side San Jose after the Group Chocolate City Buggers dismantled…They specialize in 45 RPM style group moves…After being separated do to different career choices, Reggie and Grady joined forces in 2000 to attempt reinventing their skills…since then they’ve added an old friend to the group, Aiko Sharakawa (B-Girl Aiko).
Reggie Currie Aka “Double Edge Regg” has been performing for over 35 years. He is a co-founder of Jam Patrol and lives, eats, and sleeps dance. From instructing dance cardio classes to performing with Sheila E and several other music artists, to choreographing routines for his groups “Jam Patrol” and “The Real Party People”, to performing with the San Jose Ballet, Reggie always gives back to his Bay Area roots. Most recently, Reggie has found himself immersed in character performing, better known as mascot performing. He’s well known throughout the major sports arenas as the “Dancing Mascot”. He has performed for the Minor League Baseball, MLB, NBA, NFL and the Harlem Globetrotters. So the next time you’re watching a major sports event, keep your eyes opened for the “Dancing Mascot”, it might just be Reggie inside.
